Formentera’s beaches are breathtakingly gorgeous, and if you’re seeking a seaside vacation, this island is undoubtedly one of the world’s top destinations to unwind and escape from the pressures of everyday life. The shimmering white sand and the awe-inspiring crystal-clear waters will transport you to a realm of unadulterated paradise.
Undoubtedly, Formentera’s beaches can be compared to those in the Caribbean, as they are just as stunning. However, the locals confidently assert that Formentera’s beaches are superior, thanks to their stunning and invigorating waters that are perfect for swimming.
The beaches here are undoubtedly among the most extraordinary you’ve ever seen, and whether you prefer vast and expansive or small and secluded, Formentera offers the ultimate island paradise.
Formentera’s most frequented beaches are an absolute delight and are conveniently accessible to visitors. These beaches offer some of the finest amenities, including fantastic beach bars and restaurants, and comfortable sunbeds and parasols available for rent. Their facilities are some of the best you’ll find anywhere, making your time on the beach all the more enjoyable. Additionally, many of the beaches are ideal for snorkeling, and some even offer water sports activities for those looking to add some excitement to their beach day.
While Formentera’s beaches are undoubtedly stunning and among the finest in the world, they can get quite crowded during the high season. However, if you’re willing to take a short walk away from the busiest parts, you can find less populated areas of the beach that offer more solitude and peacefulness.
These more isolated stretches of sand can be a perfect escape for those looking to get away from the crowds and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Formentera’s coastline. The serene atmosphere, combined with the picturesque scenery, can create an idyllic setting that will make you feel as though you have found your own personal paradise.

· ILLETES ·
As you set foot on Playa Illetes, you’ll immediately feel as though you’ve entered a Caribbean paradise rather than the Mediterranean. It’s no surprise that this beach was recently voted the best in Europe and ranked number six in the world’s top ten beaches.
Stretching along the west side of a long and slender peninsula, you’ll find pristine white sand, clear blue skies, and the most remarkable crystal-clear waters you’ve ever seen. These elements combine to create Formentera’s own unique piece of heaven on earth.
Playa Illetes is conveniently located just five kilometers from the port of La Savina, making it easily accessible by bike, bus, taxi, scooter, or car. It’s an idyllic beach destination that offers a little slice of paradise. (More + info)
· LEVANTE ·
Located on the eastern side of the narrow peninsula shared with Playa Illetes, you’ll discover the expansive sandy beach of Playa de Levante. Here, you’ll find peaceful bays and small rocky areas that offer seclusion and privacy. The beach’s serene ambiance makes it a popular spot for naturists, with the backdrop of sand dunes providing a perfect setting to enjoy the beach in the most natural way possible.
However, it’s important to note that Levante is often subjected to winds from east, which can create waves and water currents. Although this makes the beach less crowded during the summer, if you enjoy the thrill of the waves, then this is the perfect beach for you. (More + info)
