The coastal stretch known as Ca Marí in Formentera is located in the central part of the Migjorn coast. It covers a fairly long stretch of coastline and alternates between sandy areas and some rocks. Due to the currents that characterize the Migjorn area, it is common to find a certain amount of dried seagrass (posidonia) accumulated on the shore.
The Ca Marí area is considered an urban center, and as such, you will find several supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, apartments, and car and motorcycle rental companies in the area.
In different sections of Es Ca Marí beach, there are concessions for renting sunbeds and umbrellas, along with a kiosk located on the western end. However, it’s important to note that the lifeguard service is not provided by the Formentera Council. Instead, the presence of certified lifeguards is the responsibility of each individual concession holder on Ca Marí beach.
Please keep in mind…
While it is not an especially challenging stretch of coast, like other beaches in the Migjorn area, it is necessary to exercise caution due to the ocean currents that affect most of the coastline in this part of Formentera.
Always swim at a safe distance and avoid overestimating your swimming abilities. Never underestimate the sea, even if it appears calm. Enjoy it, but always with the respect it deserves.
