Everything you need to know about Cala Saona
Cala Saona in Formentera is one of the natural gems you shouldn’t miss during your visit to this beautiful island. Situated between Punta Rasa and Caló d’en Trull, Cala Saona stands out as one of the best coves in Formentera and one of the most famous and visited beaches on the island. What makes Cala Saona special is its unique combination of low cliffs with reddish earth, a wide sandy shore surrounded by dunes and forests, and above all, the spectacular view of the turquoise sea seen from above.
At Cala Saona beach, you can relax and enjoy the sun from early morning until sunset, as it is an ideal spot to witness the sunset over the horizon.

Please note…..
Despite the large sandy beach of Cala Saona, during certain times of the summer, it can be crowded with visitors, giving a sense of being “completely full.”
The existing dune in the area, extending up to about 25 meters from the shore, significantly reduces the available space to place your towel and beach mat. Even if you arrive early and initially have more separation from other visitors on Cala Saona beach, it’s highly likely that you’ll end up surrounded by more people who want to be as close as possible to the shoreline.
If you prefer greater comfort, you will find three concession areas on Cala Saona beach where you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas. The regulated price (at the time of writing this text) is €10 per item.
